Annwyl Gydweithwyr

Rwy’n ysgrifennu i’ch atgoffa am y prosiect ‘Ymatebion i Wrthdaro a Rhaniadau dan Arweiniad Ieuenctid’ a ariennir gan y Cyngor Prydeinig, a gofyn i chi annog pobl ifanc yn eich sefydliad i wneud cais i gymryd rhan.

Mae hwn yn gyfle unigryw i bobl ifanc (18 – 35 oed) yng Nghymru o ran cefnogi cyfranogwyr i ddatblygu sgiliau a phrofiad hanfodol sy’n gysylltiedig â’u CV ac i fod yn rhan o brosiect rhyngwladol pwysig a fydd o fudd i bobl ifanc yng Nghymru ac Uganda.

Nid yw’r ymrwymiad amser i gyfranogwyr yn enfawr.  Bydd yn digwydd ar-lein yn bennaf, gydag un digwyddiad hyfforddi wyneb yn wyneb (ar wahân yng Nghymru ac Uganda). Bydd cyfranogwyr yn ennill sgiliau pwysig mewn rheoli prosiectau, datrys gwrthdaro a digidol ac yn dod i adnabod pobl ifanc o gymuned fyd-eang wahanol iawn. Yn ystod y prosiect byddant yn cael eu cefnogi gan staff a’u grymuso i wneud gwahaniaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu cymunedau eu hunain a thu hwnt.

Mae amser yn brin: mae angen i ni gynnal cyfarfodydd ar-lein a hyfforddiant ym mis Tachwedd – mis Rhagfyr. Dylai cyfranogwyr anfon mynegiant o ddiddordeb at Jane / Sioned erbyn diwedd y dydd ar 14 Tachwedd, gan amlinellu pam eu bod â diddordeb yn y prosiect a’r hyn y maent yn credu y byddent yn ei gyfrannu ato.

Ynglŷn â’r prosiect:

Wedi’i ariannu gan y Cyngor Prydeinig, mae Canolfan Materion Rhyngwladol Cymru (WCIA) yn gweithio gyda Care for Uganda / Abaagala Uganda ar Brosiect Cydweithio Ieuenctid, gan gefnogi pobl ifanc yng Nghymru ac Uganda i archwilio achosion gwrthdaro a rhaniadau yn eu bywydau a gweithio gyda’i gilydd i greu atebion dan arweiniad pobl ifanc.

Yn ystod sesiynau ar-lein, bydd cyfranogwyr yn rhannu materion sy’n achosi gwrthdaro a rhaniad yn eu bywydau, gan gynnwys polareiddio ac ymyleiddio, camwybodaeth ac araith gasineb, a chydweithio ar ymgyrch neu adnodd i fynd i’r afael â’r materion hyn gyda’u cyfoedion yng Nghymru ac Uganda.

Dear Colleagues

I am writing to remind you of the British Council-funded ‘Youth-led Responses to Conflict and Division’ project and ask you to encourage young people in your organisation to apply to take part.

This is a unique opportunity for young people (aged 18 – 35) in Wales in terms of supporting participants to develop vital CV-related skills and experience and to be part of an important international project which will be beneficial for young people in Wales and Uganda. 

The time commitment involved for participants is not huge and will mostly take place online, with one face to face training event (separately in Wales and Uganda).  Participants will gain important project-management, conflict-resolution and digital skills and get to know young people from a very different global community. During the project they will be supported by staff and be empowered to make a difference for young people in their own communities and beyond.

Time is of the essence: we need to get online meetings and training underway in November – December.  Participants should send an expression of interest to Jane / Sioned by the end of the day on 14th November, outlining why they are interested in the project and what they think they would bring to it.

About the project:

Funded by the British Council, the Welsh Centre for International Affairs (WCIA) is working with Care for Uganda / Abaagala Uganda on a Youth Collaboration Project, supporting young people in Wales and Uganda to explore causes of conflict and division in their lives and work together to create youth-led solutions. 

During online sessions participants will share issues that cause conflict and division in their lives, including polarisation and marginalisation, misinformation and hate speech, and collaborate on a campaign or resource to address these issues with their peers in Wales and Uganda.

Weston Charity Awards Launch 2026

Applications are now open for the annual Weston Charity Awards! We know that charities are under pressure to deliver their great work – they face increased costs, a high demand for their services and a competitive environment. The Weston Charity Awards programme is a great opportunity for charities to take stock, work with experienced experts, and develop plans for a resilient future.   We are once again partnering with Pilotlight to offer a package of support worth over £22,000, including unrestricted grants of £6,500 for ambitious charities like yours. Award winners receive 8 months of pro-bono (worth an estimated £16,000) support from senior professionals across diverse private and public sectors. This programme offers expert coaching on everything from operational efficiencies to sustainable long-term strategies and growth.  

The next round of applications is now open until 5pm on Friday 9th January 2026. The Awards are open to registered charities working with beneficiaries in the North of England, the Midlands, and Wales and which specialise in the fields of Community, Welfare, Youth, and Environment. Charities with at least one paid full-time member of staff in a leadership position and an annual income of less than £5 million are eligible to apply. Pilotlight are holding online sessions about the Awards. FUNDING NEWS: Gwent only

The Commissioner can award funding, via grants or contracts, to organisations which contribute to the reduction of crime and disorder in Gwent, or to organisations which help victims or witnesses cope and recover from harm they have experienced.

The Commissioner can work in partnership or provide funding to a wide range of organisations (including statutory bodies, third sector organisations, small community groups and social enterprises) that are best able to support delivery of priorities outlined in the Police and Crime Plan. The term ‘commissioning’ is simply the cycle of assessing the needs of the people in an area, designing and securing the appropriate service, and then monitoring and evaluating their performance.

COUNCIL FOR WALES OF VOLUNTARY YOUTH SERVICES (CWVYS) MANIFESTO


This manifesto is presented by the voluntary youth work sector in Wales. We believe that better outcomes for young people will be achieved if the following are implemented in full:


1)Young people
●Implement legislation that defines a statutory function for youth work in Wales
●Creation of a ‘Minister for Children and Young People’ as a full cabinet position
●Place young people at the centre of all planning and best practice issues

2)Accessibility and inclusivity
●Fully adopt a rights-based approach, accepting young people whatever their race, gender, sex, sexual identity, language, culture, religion, disability, age, background, location or personal circumstances
●Challenge inequalities in the sector
●Ensure facilitation of collaboration and partnership working in the sector
●Promoting diversity and inclusion within Wales and internationally

3)Workforce
●Provide incentives for voluntary organisations to support staff and volunteers to access professional and personal development
●The registration of all staff, volunteers and trustees in youth work-related settings

4)Information
●Create a National Youth Information Service
●Children’s Commissioner for Wales to work with, and for, young people up to the age of 25 in line with youth work provision
●Adoption of ‘Youth Work in Wales: Principles and Purposes’ by all Welsh Government departments

5)Sustainable youth work
●Creation of a national youth work body, with full parity for the voluntary youth work sector
●Resource investment with transparent and accountable non-hypothecated monies

CWVYS is the representative body for the voluntary youth work sector in Wales.
The sector works with 250,000 young people, 30,000 volunteers and 3,000 paid staff.

Penodi Lisa Winstone yn Brif Weithredwr Cyngor y Gweithlu Addysg / Lisa Winstone appointed Chief Executive of the Education Workforce Council

Mae Lisa’n dod i’r rôl yn swyddogol yn dilyn cyfnod fel Prif Weithredwr dros dro, gan olynu Hayden Llewellyn, wnaeth ymddeol yn gynharach eleni, ar ôl arwain y sefydliad ers ei sefydlu yn 2015.

Ymunodd Lisa â Chyngor y Gweithlu Addysg (CGA) yn 2018 fel Cyfarwyddwr Cyllid a Gwasanaethau Corfforaethol, gan ddod yn Ddirprwy Brif Weithredwr yn ddiweddarach. Dros y saith mlynedd ddiwethaf, mae hi wedi chwarae rôl hanfodol yn arweinyddiaeth strategol y sefydliad, gan oruchwylio swyddogaethau corfforaethol craidd ac arwain datblygiad sefydliadol.

We can confirm that Lisa Winstone has been appointed as our new Chief Executive.

Lisa formally takes up the position following a period as Interim Chief Executive, succeeding Hayden Llewellyn, who retired earlier this year after leading the organisation since its establishment in 2015.

Lisa joined the Education Workforce Council (EWC) in 2018 as Director of Finance and Corporate Services, later becoming Deputy Chief Executive. Over the past seven years, she has played a key role in the organisation’s strategic leadership, overseeing core corporate functions and driving organisational development.
