Neath Port Talbot Children’s Rights Unit (CRU) is a Big Lottery Funded project which aims to make the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) a reality for children, young people and their families living in Neath Port Talbot.

The UNCRC is an agreement between countries which sets out the basic rights all children should have. The project has been funded by The Big Lottery for 3 years to provide opportunities and support for children and young people up to the age of 25 to develop the confidence and skills to understand and exercise their rights, thus becoming active citizens in their societies. The Unit also works to raise awareness and advance education of children’s rights in all areas of society.
