At Community Music Wales (CMW) our primary aim is to contribute to the empowerment of disadvantaged groups and individuals by enabling them to participate in creativity and learning through participation in music making.
CMW provides a wide range of music activity, including workshops, training and mentoring to communities across Wales.
Our delivery of grass roots activity centers on participatory music workshops providing opportunities for creative music making to those who live in disadvantaged communities and have little or no access to the arts.
The majority of our projects target people who are disadvantaged or suffer from social exclusion and aim to improve self-confidence, motivation and self-esteem. CMW’s work is often client led, and engages with groups with specific needs including disabled people, homeless people, those with drug or alcohol problems and young offenders.
