SUMMARY:No Hate Speech Week
DESCRIPTION:The No Hate Speech Week aims to provide a space to exchange on recent legal and policy developments and good practices of implementation\, innovations and foster synergies between key partners in field of combating hate speech. The presence of different stakeholders provides networking opportunities that can enable a comprehensive and multi-stakeholder approach to preventing and combating hate speech in the member states. \nThe week is organised by the Anti-discrimination Department in the framework of the EU-CoE joint project Building Civil Society’s capacities to tackle hate speech online and supported by the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of Europe. \nThe Council of Europe invites participants from its member states active on combating hate speech\, in particular those who represent CSOs active at European and national levels\, national authorities\, as also representatives of Equality bodies and Ombudsoffices\, academia\, internet industry etc. to apply and take part in the No Hate Speech Week. To this day\, this is the only message of its kind in the world. It’s a valuable tradition that empowers the youth of Wales to create and inspire humanitarian activity internationally. \nThe message is created into a short film and will be available to share from the Urdd’s social media accounts on 17 May 24 | 7:30am BST. \n2024 Theme:\nThis year’s Message honours the legacy of the Welsh Women’s Peace Petition of 1923-1924\, signed by 390\,296 women across Wales. A hundred years later\, the young women of Wales reaffirm the need to advocate for peace. The message inspires us to act for peace. DESCRIPTION:The European Commission has launched the dates of the next European Youth Week\, which will officially take place from 12 to 19 April and extend the week before and after these days. \n  \nUnder the slogan “Voice your vision”\, the EYW 2024 will focus on the civic engagement of youth in Europe and putting democracy into action. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your activities and initiatives while contributing to the larger conversation surrounding Democracy & European elections. \n  \nTherefore\, we would like to invite you to submit your initiatives to the European Commission EYW platform (https://youth.europa.eu/youthweek_en#eyw-youth-events).
