DESCRIPTION:Right to Education Learning Seminar (online)\nWednesday 20th November 10-12 \nBrought to you by EYST Wales\, we are delighted to invite you to our first learning seminar as part of the Right to Education (R2E) project. Right to Education is an all-Wales specialist support and advocacy service for ethnic minority young people and their families experiencing disputes with schools\, including school exclusions. \nWhat is a learning seminar?  \nThe learning seminar aims to equip those supporting and advocating for young people and families – in professional and community settings – with the knowledge and skills to mitigate and support those experiencing school exclusions. The interactive session will provide straightforward information to support you in your knowledge around school exclusions. \nThe learning seminar will particularly benefit those supporting and advocating for young people and families\, of all backgrounds\, either in a personal capacity (through parent and community networks) or professionally (youth workers\, family support workers etc.) \nWhat will I gain from attending? \nUsing real-life scenarios\, Amira Assami and Jami Abramson will support attendees with: \n\nUnderstanding the basics – what does a school exclusion look like\, what are the processes and guidance in place\, what to do when things don’t feel/look right.\nDemystifying jargon around school exclusions\, equipping you with the confidence to challenge schools and headteachers.\n‘Spot the signs’ of young people on the road to school exclusion\, offering preventative advice.\nRecognising the benefits of multi-agency working and referrals when supporting young people through school exclusions processes.\nThe opportunity to share knowledge with your colleagues and peers\, hopefully to widen knowledge about this sometimes less understood issue when supporting young people and families.\n\nJoin us to learn and share knowledge and insights around school exclusions to ensure all the young people we support have access to their rights. \nRegister here:  https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAlcuiprzMtHNYJuqNc5XgGh1hmRczntkBG \nAny questions in the meantime\, please contact Amira amira@eyst.org.uk or Jami jami@eyst.org.uk \nWe look forward to meeting you! \n  \n
