YOUTH ENGAGEMENT & PROGRESSION FRAMEWORK AND THE ROLE OF THE VOLUNTARY YOUTH WORK SECTOR IN WALES

As the representative body for the voluntary youth work sector in Wales, CWVYS was delighted to be asked to work on this project on behalf of the Welsh Government.

The opportunity to engage with CWVYS member organisations on the flagship Youth Engagement and Progression Framework (YEPF) has been a crucial step forward in connecting the voluntary youth work sector to this policy initiative and empowering the sector to have its voice heard and be fully engaged in the implementation of the framework.

CWVYS also has a proud tradition of working collaboratively with a wide range of partners, including Welsh Government, Local Authorities and the Welsh Local Government Association, amongst many others. This project has encouraged additional, positive partnership working relationships and we intend to maintain and develop that momentum, as we ‘approach and deliver’ in more joined-up ways.

Many of our member organisations have reflected on the fact that that engaging and progressing young people is ‘what they do’. However, participating in this project has helped us in the voluntary youth work sector to contextualise that powerful and vital work being carried out, to assess its strengths and weaknesses and to continue to work towards the aims of the YEPF Implementation Plan: to create better outcomes for young people in Wales.

Y FFRAMWAITH YMGYSYLLTU A DATBLYGU IEUENCTID A RÔL Y SECTOR GWAITH IEUENCTID GWIRFODDOL YNG NGHYMRU
Fel y corff cynrychiadol ar gyfer y sector gwaith ieuenctid gwirfoddol yng Nghymru, roedd CWVYS yn falch o dderbyn cais i weithio ar y prosiect hwn ar ran Llywodraeth Cymru.

Mae’r cyfle i ymrwymo gydag aelod-sefydliadau CWVYS ar brosiect blaenllaw y Fframwaith Ymgysylltu a Datblygu Ieuenctid (YEPF) wedi bod yn gam hanfodol ymlaen o ran cysylltu’r sector gwaith ieuenctid gwirfoddol a’r fenter polisi hwn a rhoi grym i’r sector leisio’u barn a chwarae rhan lawn yn rhoi’r fframwaith ar waith.

Mae hefyd gan CWVYS draddodiad balch o weithio ar y cyd ag amrywiaeth eang o bartneriaid, gan gynnwys Llywodraeth Cymru, Awdurdodau Lleol a Sefydliad Llywodraeth Leol Cymru, ymhlith eraill. Mae’r prosiect hwn wedi annog rhagor o berthnasau gweithio cadarnhaol ac rydym yn bwriadu cynnal a datblygu’r momentwm hwnnw, wrth i ni ‘weithio a darparu’ mewn ffyrdd mwy unedig.

Mae nifer o’n haelod-sefydliadau wedi adlewyrchu ar y ffaith mai ymgysylltu gyda phobl ifanc a’u datblygu yw ‘beth maen nhw’n gwneud’. Fodd bynnag, mae cymryd rhan yn y prosiect hwn wedi ein helpu yn y sector gwaith ieuenctid gwirfoddol i roi cyd-destun i’r gwaith pwerus a hanfodol sy’n cael ei wneud, i asesu ei gryfderau a gwendidau ac i barhau i weithio tuag at nodau Cynllun Gweithredu YEPF: i greu deilliannau gwell ar gyfer pobl ifanc Cymru.
