PAPYRUS is a national charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide in those under the age of 35.

PAPYRUS exists to reduce the number of young people (under 35) who take their own lives by shattering the stigma around suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.

We engage communities and volunteers in suicide prevention projects and deliver training programmes to individuals and groups equipping them with suicide prevention skills. We provide confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone of any age who is worried about a young person through our helpline, HOPELINEUK.

HOPELINE UK is a free, confidential service available across Wales. As well as under 35s who need support, it is open to parents and professionals who want to discuss concerns about those under 35s or professionals who want to ‘debrief’ after encountering suicidal or potentially suicidal situations.

HOPELINE UK can be reached between 9 a.m. and Midnight every day of the year on 0800 068 41 41 or by e-mail on pat@papyrus-org.uk or text 07860 039967

PAPYRUS also runs a volunteering programme for anyone who wants to help us to raise awareness of suicide and create suicide-safer communities across Wales.
