Point was established in 2001 after the findings of a Community Survey indicated that many residents believed action needed to be taken to help overcome the obstacles they believed were preventing some local young people from fulfilling their true potential.
Fishguard and Goodwick along with the surrounding communities are based in the rural North of Pembrokeshire in West Wales. The young people of the area face many of the problems that all young people encounter along with the added difficulty of remoteness from information, support and training services. The town no longer has a Job Centre or Careers office and job opportunities are limited particulary out of the tourist season.
The principle of the charity has always been to provide a regular service for local young people within their community, particualry for those who are socially, educationally and economically marginalised.
