We provide confidential advocacy representation to vulnerable children and young people across Wales on behalf of local authorities.
Peer Advocacy Services
NYAS Cymru runs a peer-led advocacy service which helps young people supports other young people in our work. Peer advocates have received training and have obtained a qualification to ensure they are suitable for the role.
We provide an Independent Visiting Service to children and young people with limited contact with their families.
Working Together For Children
NYAS is an approved provider of Cafcass Cymru to deliver their separated parents program “Working Together For Children” (WT4C) in North Wales.
Participation and Consultation
Young people have the opportunity to get involved in local groups to promote their views, wishes and feelings in local policy and help develop our work in Wales. The Young People’s Advisory Group supports our strategic aims and objectives.
NYAS is an accredited assessment centre for City & Guilds and OCN to deliver training. We offer training packages for the public, voluntary and statutory sector. NYAS Cymru trains candidates on the National Advocacy Qualification.
NYAS Cymru is also a lead agency of the Cywaith management consortium of MEIC – the 24 hour advocacy, information and advice helpline for children and young people in Wales. To find out more information about MEIC go to www.meiccymru.org
