Penarth Youth Project

The company is an independent charity providing a variety of services to young people aged 11-25. Since opening 12 years ago the charity has helped over 100,000 young people make informed choices about their lives.

In January 2009 Penarth Youth Project launched a new programme titled “Peered Up” which is supported by The Big Lottery Fund. The project has built in numbers and strength through 2010 with the realisation of a new group identified through the Peered Up programme for young people with Asperges. Another new group is to commence in 2011 for young people presenting with similar personal issues.

The “Peered Up” Project is designed to target those young people aged 11 – 17 years who are presenting challenging or problematic behaviour, vulnerability, issues of identity or ability. In addition the project will support young people facing isolation or deprivation due to geography and/or lack of community/personal resources.

Alongside The “Peered Up” Programme, the charity continues to operate other youth services in partnership with both the statutory and voluntary sector, providing services, information, accreditation, activities and a voice to young people in the Vale of Glamorgan
